Read: Read Proverbs 9:10 — 'The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.'
People use the important word wisdom often, but what does it really mean for your own real daily life? The world may say wisdom means cleverness — good grades, quick answers, and knowing many facts. Yet God says true wisdom starts somewhere else entirely today. Proverbs 9:10 tells you, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom." That word fear does not mean being scared of God like He is a monster. It means awe — treating God as so big, so holy, and so real that you take Him seriously in everything. Notice the word beginning. You cannot skip ahead to being wise without first knowing God. A person can be brilliant and still make a wreck of their life, because they left God out — and you are old enough now to see that happening around you. So where do you turn first when you have a problem: a friend, a screen, your own feelings, or God? This year you will build a habit of turning to Him first. Real wisdom is not mainly about being smart; it is about knowing the holy God and living His way. Start there, and everything else finds its right place. Begin today by bowing your heart before Him.
