Age 6: I Can Read God's Word · Week 1

God Is the Beginning

Before anything else existed, God was already there — and He made everything.

Memory Verse

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”— Genesis 1:1 (KJV)

Say it: “In the beginning God made everything”

Do it: Sweep both arms wide like opening a big book.

Monday

Open: God, teach me as I read Your Word today.

Read: You read Genesis 1:1 aloud — slowly, one word at a time. Big cheer when you finish!

God Is the Beginning — Monday

Think about the very beginning of everything — before there were stars, before there was light, before there was even one drop of water. What was there? God was already there. Nobody made God, because He has always been alive and He will always be alive for ever. Then God did something only God can do: He made the whole world out of nothing at all. He simply spoke, and it was there! When you read "In the beginning God," you are learning the most important truth in the whole Bible — that God comes first, and He made you too. That is why we praise Him today.

Talk about:

  • What are the first words? ('In the beginning God…')
  • Who made everything? (God!)

Remember: "In the beginning God made everything" — sweep both arms wide like opening a big book.

Pray: God, You were here before everything. I praise You.
